Pecan Candy

Summary

These sweetened pecan nuts will just hit the spot if you are feeling like something sweet with just a little goodness. They are just so simple to make, just 3 simple steps! 

This recipe for caramelised pecans strike the perfect balance between sweetness, ingredients you probably already have in your cupboard, and versatility – you can easily make substitutions based on your needs or the availability of the ingredients.

 Ideal to eat as a snack, serve on top of ice cream or as a garnish in your favourite salad. you can even prepare them in advance and keep in the fridge!

Ingredients

  • Serves 6
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons packed coconut sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons water
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch of sea salt

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180° C
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except for the pecans. Add the pecans and coat them well
  4. Spread the pecans on the baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes to prevent large pieces from fusing together, until well roasted.
  5. Let it cool at room temperature
